Kingler is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. This crustacean Pokémon resembles a crab with a distinctive oversized left pincer. Its strong shell covers its body, featuring a red upper half and a light tan lower half. Kingler's upper body is topped with six tall, thin spikes that resemble a crown. Its most notable feature is its enormous left claw, which is roughly twice as large as the right one and as hard as steel.

Kingler's large pincer boasts an impressive 10,000-horsepower strength, making it a formidable tool for offensive maneuvers. However, this massive claw comes with a drawback - it's so heavy that Kingler can barely lift it, causing balancing problems and quick fatigue from continuous use. Despite this challenge, Kingler has been observed using its pincers to communicate with others of its species.

Often found on the edges of water bodies, particularly oceans, Kingler's powerful claws are capable of prying open the shells of Shellder and Cloyster. Its unique ability to use its pincers for both combat and communication showcases the dual nature of this adaptation.

Additions Across Generations

In Generation VIII, Kingler gained a Gigantamax form, which further emphasizes its already massive left pincer. This form comes with an exclusive G-Max move called G-Max Foam Burst. The Gigantamax energy causes Kingler's left pincer to grow to an enormous size, capable of pulverizing anything.
