Wobbuffet is a unique Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation 2. Known as the Patient Pokémon, it has a distinctive cyan-colored body with a soft, blob-like appearance. Wobbuffet's most notable feature is its black tail with two eye-like spots, which it fiercely protects. The Pokémon is known for its docile nature and tendency to live in dark caves to keep its tail hidden. Interestingly, female Wobbuffet have a red marking on their mouth resembling lipstick, while males do not.
Wobbuffet's battling style is entirely defensive, relying on moves like Counter and Mirror Coat to reflect damage back at opponents. It never initiates attacks on its own, instead waiting to retaliate. When two or more Wobbuffet meet, they engage in endurance contests, sometimes competing to see which can last longer without food. This Pokémon has the highest base HP stat of all Psychic-type Pokémon, making it incredibly resilient.

- Ruby: If two or more Wobbuffet meet, they will turn competitive and try to outdo each other's endurance. However, they may try to see which one can endure the longest without food. Trainers need to beware of this habit.

Habits and Additions Across Generations
In Generation 3, Wobbuffet gained the ability to use its tail for blinking and looking around in the Pokémon Stadium series. Before Generation 4, Wobbuffet could not damage Ghost- or Dark-type Pokémon using their own type moves due to immunities. In Pokémon Sleep, it was revealed that Wobbuffet keeps its tail hidden even while sleeping, only exposing it when deeply asleep. Wobbuffet's English name was suggested by Jeff Kalles, who assisted in naming many Generation 2 Pokémon.
