Tentacool is a Water/Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. This jellyfish-like creature has a light blue, clear body with two large, transparent, red, eye-like crystals on each side and a smaller one in the middle. Tentacool's body is composed of 99% water, with the remaining 1% containing the organ that produces its poison. It has the remarkable ability to absorb sunlight and refract it using the water inside its body to convert it into beam energy, which it can shoot from its crystal-like eyes.
Tentacool is not a strong swimmer and primarily drifts through shallow seas, carried by ocean currents while searching for prey. Its tentacles are equipped with stinging cells that can deliver a potent poison, capable of badly injuring someone if not treated immediately. Interestingly, these tentacles can break off occasionally but have the ability to regenerate. Tentacool can be found lying dehydrated on beaches, often still alive, and can be revived when returned to water.

- Gold/Silver: When the tide goes out, dehydrated Tentacool remains can be found washed up on the shore.
- Ruby/Sapphire: Tentacool's body is largely composed of water. If it is removed from the sea, it dries up like parchment. If this Pokémon happens to become dehydrated, put it back into the sea.
- Sun/Moon: They can be found lying dehydrated on beaches, but they are often still alive. When soaked in water, they will revive.

Tentacool evolves into Tentacruel at level 30.
Habits
Tentacool searches for food while drifting on the surface of shallow seas. It has the ability to blend in with water, making it difficult to spot. When washed ashore, it may shrivel up due to dehydration but remains equally dangerous.
Additions Across Generations
In Generation 9, a similar-looking Pokémon called Toedscool was discovered. However, it is a separate species and not biologically related to Tentacool. Tentacool's ecological similarity to Toedscool is noteworthy, despite their distinct evolutionary paths.
