Tangela is a Grass-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is known as the Vine Pokémon and is completely covered in blue vines, obscuring its true appearance. These vines are constantly growing and can easily snap off without causing pain, allowing Tangela to make quick escapes. The lost vines are quickly replaced by newly grown ones the very next day. Tangela's vines have a distinct scent and are used as herbs in some parts of Galar. It can ensnare and entangle anything that moves too close with its vines, which constantly jiggle and sway, causing a tickling sensation. Interestingly, Tangela's vines are said to have a refreshing flavor and scent.

Tangela can usually be found in temperate grasslands and has been known to swing on tree branches using its vines. It uses its vines to ensnare and entangle prey or potential threats.
