Slowpoke is a Water/Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is known for its incredibly slow and dopey nature, often taking several seconds to react to stimuli. Slowpoke's most distinctive feature is its long tail, which it uses as a fishing lure by dipping it in water. The tail secretes a sweet substance that attracts prey, but Slowpoke is so absentminded that it often forgets what it's doing and spends entire days loafing at the water's edge.
Interestingly, Slowpoke's tail can break off without causing pain, and it will eventually grow back. In some regions, Slowpoke tails are considered a delicacy and are used in cooking. Slowpoke has a vacant expression that is said to help some people relax, while irritating others. In certain areas, it is believed that Slowpoke's yawn can cause rain, leading to its worship in those places.

Evolutions
Slowpoke evolves into Slowbro at level 37 or into Slowking when traded while holding a King's Rock. In the Galar region, Slowpoke has a regional form that evolves into Galarian Slowbro when exposed to a Galarica Cuff or Galarian Slowking when exposed to a Galarica Wreath.
Habits and Additions Across Generations
In Generation II, Slowpoke gained the ability to evolve into Slowking. In Generation VIII, Slowpoke received a Galarian form, changing its type to pure Psychic and altering its evolution methods. The Pokémon Sleep game revealed that researchers debate whether Slowpoke is awake or asleep while it stands around doing nothing. In Alola, dried Slowpoke tails are used in home-cooked stews, while in Galar, they are smoked and packaged as a curry ingredient.
