Shuckle is a unique Bug/Rock-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Known as the Mold Pokémon, it has an incredibly distinctive appearance resembling a small turtle-like creature with a red shell full of holes. Its yellow body appears soft and its limbs seem limp when not in use. Shuckle is renowned for having the highest base Defense and Special Defense stats of all Pokémon, both at an impressive 230. Despite its defensive prowess, it has extremely low HP, Attack, Special Attack, and Speed stats, giving it one of the most uneven stat distributions in the Pokémon world.

One of Shuckle's most interesting features is its ability to store and ferment berries inside its shell. The berries mix with its body fluids to create a juice, which in the anime works like a Pokémon love potion. Shuckle's digestive juices are also capable of dissolving rocks, allowing it to hide beneath them. In Generation II games, there was a small chance that a Shuckle holding a Berry would turn it into Berry Juice after each battle.
