Psyduck is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. This duck-like creature is constantly plagued by headaches, which are the source of its mysterious psychic powers. When its headache becomes too severe, Psyduck can unleash powerful psychic abilities, often without meaning to or remembering afterward. Its vacant expression and tendency to tilt its head in confusion have made it a popular and endearing character among fans.
Interestingly, Psyduck's brain cells are found to be 10 times more active when it's experiencing a headache. This unique characteristic has sparked controversy and curiosity among Pokémon scholars. Despite its seemingly distressed state, Psyduck is known to inhabit freshwater lakes, small ponds, and even rivers in tropical areas.

Evolutions
Psyduck evolves into Golduck at level 33.
Habits
Psyduck often stands immobile, trying to calm its persistent headache. It tends to space out and do as little as possible to avoid triggering its headaches. When stressed, its headache progressively worsens, potentially leading to the use of intense psychic energy.
Additions Across Generations
In Generation II, Psyduck gained the ability to inherit Psychic as an Egg Move. However, it couldn't learn Psychic by TM until Generation IV. In Generation V, Psyduck and its evolution Golduck were no longer the only Pokémon with the Cloud Nine ability. Psyduck was considered as a mascot for Pokémon: Let's Go games alongside Pikachu, but was ultimately not chosen due to its yellow coloration being too similar to Pikachu's.
