Oddish is a small, plant-like Pokémon with a round blue body resembling a root vegetable. It has beady red eyes, a small mouth, and ovoid feet. Five large green leaves sprout from its head, which are prehensile and can be used to scale vertical surfaces and catch light objects. Known by the scientific name "Oddium Wanderus," Oddish is a nocturnal creature that buries its sensitive body in the ground during the day to avoid the sun and fool predators. If its leaves are pulled while buried, it will respond by shrieking horribly. Oddish becomes active at night, wandering up to 1,000 feet to scatter its seeds and find nutrient-rich soil. It absorbs moonlight for growth, and the more fertile the earth it's planted in, the glossier its leaves become. Interestingly, it's thought that Oddish's feet transform into root-like structures while planted.

Evolutions
Oddish evolves into Gloom at level 21, which can then evolve into either Vileplume when exposed to a Leaf Stone or Bellossom when exposed to a Sun Stone.
Habits and Additions Across Generations
Oddish has remained relatively consistent across generations, with its nocturnal habits and plant-like characteristics being core to its identity. In Generation I, Petal Dance was its signature move. The Pokémon's base friendship value changed from 70 in earlier generations to 50 in more recent ones. Oddish's hidden ability, Run Away, was introduced in later generations, allowing it to flee from wild battles more easily.
