Nidoqueen is a powerful dual-type Poison/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the final evolution of the female Nidoran, evolving from Nidorina when exposed to a Moon Stone. Nidoqueen's body is encased in extremely hard scales that provide strong protection and serve as excellent armor against attacks. These scales grow in cycles and can bristle outwards when Nidoqueen becomes excited or provoked. As a defensive powerhouse, Nidoqueen is known for its ability to shield its young from any kind of attack, often using its hefty bulk to execute powerful moves.

Nidoqueen is particularly adept at sending foes flying with harsh tackles and is at its strongest when defending its offspring. It will fiercely protect the young in its burrow, even sealing the entrance with its scaly, rugged body to keep predators away. Interestingly, Nidoqueen places its young in the gaps between the spines on its back, which never release poison when the children are present.
