Natu is a small, spherical avian Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It has a green body with accents of red, yellow, and black. Despite its bird-like appearance, Natu cannot fly due to its underdeveloped wings. Instead, it has exceptional jumping abilities, allowing it to hop onto tree branches taller than grown humans. Natu's eyes are particularly notable, as they appear to be constantly observing something. This gives it a cautious and easily spooked demeanor.
Known for its psychic abilities, Natu can see into the future, which contributes to its wary nature. It has a unique foraging behavior, picking food from cactus plants while skillfully avoiding buds and spines. Natu is extremely adept at climbing tree trunks and has a preference for eating new sprouts on trees. Its eyes are so captivating that if you make eye contact, it will stare back intently. However, even the slightest movement will cause it to hop away to safety.

In later generations, more details about Natu's behavior were revealed. Ultra Sun mentions that although it still can't fly, its jumping power is outstanding, allowing it to jump high into trees to pluck buds from branches. Ultra Moon adds that Natu's gaze gives the impression of careful observation, and it will hop away if approached. In Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, it's noted that Natu seems to skip about when moving.
