Moltres is a legendary Fire and Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Known as the Flame Pokémon, it is one of the three legendary birds alongside Articuno and Zapdos. Moltres has a light yellow plumage with wings and tail made of magnificent reddish-orange flames. It is said that Moltres's appearance indicates the coming of spring, as it migrates from the south with the changing seasons. This majestic creature is known to assist those lost in the mountains, using its radiant, flame-cloaked wings to light up paths.
Moltres possesses the unique ability to heal itself by dipping its body into the magma of an active volcano. Its wings shed embers with every flap, creating a dazzling display that is believed to have inspired the legend of the phoenix. In the Orange Islands, Moltres is said to have played a role in creating the ocean's cradle by combining its fire with Articuno's ice. This legendary Pokémon is rarely seen and is known to migrate to cold lands, bringing an early springtime with its arrival.

Its aura is said to be so oppressive that it can consume the spirits of its victims, reducing them to burned-out shadows of themselves. This form is the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Fiery Wrath.
