Mankey is a Fighting-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is a small, simian creature with a round body covered in whitish, shaggy fur. Mankey has a pig-like nose, narrow red eyes, and triangular ears with brown insides. Its hands, feet, and the tip of its prehensile tail are brown.
Known for its quick temper, Mankey can go from being docile to thrashing about in an instant. It lives in treetop colonies and becomes infuriated if it loses sight of its group. Mankey's preferred food is chestnuts, but it often lacks the dexterity to peel them, which further agitates it. In the wild, Mankey is commonly found in cliffy areas and around trees in western Paldea.
Interestingly, Mankey's anger is so volatile that it can become enraged spontaneously, causing everyone nearby to clear out. This isolation only serves to make it angrier. According to Pokémon Sleep, it's rare to find a Mankey sleeping without an angry look on its face.

Evolutions
Mankey evolves into Primeape at level 28. Primeape can further evolve into Annihilape by leveling up after using Rage Fist 20 times.
Habits and Additions Across Generations
In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, three Mankey are the bosses of Uproar Forest. After being defeated, they help with the remodeling of the rescue base but go on strike until they receive two peeled chestnuts. In Generation 3, Mankey did not have the Anger Point ability, which was added later. The Pokémon's base experience yield and base friendship values have also changed across different generations.
