Lickitung is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. This peculiar creature is known for its incredibly long, prehensile tongue that can extend to twice the length of its body. Lickitung uses its tongue for various purposes, including exploring its environment, grabbing food, and attacking opponents. The tongue is densely packed with nerves and coated in sticky saliva that contains a numbing toxin, allowing Lickitung to paralyze its prey before swallowing it whole.
Interestingly, Lickitung's tongue is believed to be connected to its tail, as extending the tongue causes the tail to retract. This unique Pokémon experiences the world primarily through taste and texture, using its tongue to memorize objects rather than relying on sight or smell. Lickitung's diet consists mainly of Bug-type Pokémon, which it paralyzes and swallows whole.
