Hitmontop is a Fighting-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Known as the Handstand Pokémon, it has a unique fighting style that involves spinning on its head while delivering powerful kicks. The Pokémon's horn, located on top of its head, is made from the same substance as its fur and claws and continues to grow throughout its lifetime.

Evolutions
Hitmontop evolves from Tyrogue when its Attack and Defense stats are equal at level 20. It is one of three possible evolutions for Tyrogue, alongside Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan.

Hitmontop is known to compete with Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. As an urban species, it is often found in towns and cities. In Generation II, Hitmontop was introduced as the only Pokémon capable of learning the move Triple Kick. Prior to Generation VII, it was also one of only two Pokémon (along with Hitmonlee) that could learn Rolling Kick. In competitive battles, Hitmontop has been valued for its ability to clear entry hazards using Rapid Spin, making it a useful support Pokémon for its team.
