Golem is a dual-type Rock/Ground Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is the final evolution of Geodude, evolving from Graveler when traded. Golem's body is encased in an extremely hard, boulder-like shell that can withstand even dynamite blasts without a scratch. Once a year, Golem sheds its skin to grow larger, with the discarded shell crumbling away and returning to the soil. This process creates enriched soil, which farmers often collect for crop growth.
Interestingly, as Golem grows older, it stops shedding its shell, and moss may grow over it for those that have lived for a very long time. Golem is known for its ability to roll down mountains, and in some areas, grooves have been dug into mountainsides to divert their course and prevent them from rolling into populated areas. In battle, Golem can detonate its own body, using the explosive power to propel itself up steep mountain paths at amazing speeds.

Habits and Adaptations Across Generations
In Generation VII, an Alolan form of Golem was introduced, changing its type to Rock/Electric. This form has the ability to fire rocks charged with electricity, causing numbness and fainting even with a glancing blow. Alolan Golem is known for its grumpy and stubborn personality, discharging electricity from its body when upset. In some instances, it has been observed seizing nearby Geodude to fire them from its back when unable to produce boulders rapidly.
