Gligar is a dual-type Ground/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation II. This unique creature, known as the FlyScorpion Pokémon, possesses a distinctive purple coloration and bat-like features combined with scorpion-like attributes. Gligar's body is round, with its head and torso being roughly equal in size. It has long, triangular ears and eyes, with two large pointed teeth protruding from its upper jaw.
One of Gligar's most notable features is its ability to glide silently through the air, moving as if it were sliding. This silent flight allows it to approach its prey undetected. When attacking, Gligar uses its clawed hind legs and large pincers on its forelegs to latch onto the face of its target. It then injects its prey with venom using the poisonous stinger located at the end of its segmented tail.
Gligar is known for its unique hunting strategy. It often clings to cliff sides, waiting for potential prey. When a target is spotted, Gligar spreads its wings and glides down to attack, startling its victim before striking. This Pokémon is also capable of emitting sound waves to detect and navigate around obstacles while in flight.
