Elekid is an Electric-type baby Pokémon introduced in Generation II. This small, yellow Pokémon has a round body with black stripes and a lightning bolt pattern on its chest. Its most distinctive features are the two horns on its head that resemble the prongs of an electrical plug. These horns glow bluish-white when Elekid is fully charged with electricity. Elekid generates electricity by rotating its arms, which are disproportionately large compared to its body. However, it tires easily and can only produce small amounts of electricity at a time. Unable to store the electricity it generates, Elekid often sneaks into human homes to consume electricity from electrical outlets, which serve as its "baby bottles".

Habits and Additions Across Generations
Elekid becomes restless and rowdy during thunderstorms, often playing outside when thunder rumbles. Its mood improves when it hears the crash of thunder, and it can be helpful to play recorded thunderstorm sounds when Elekid is feeling down. In Generation IV, Elekid gained the ability to learn several new moves through breeding, including Cross Chop, Dynamic Punch, and Fire Punch. The Pokémon's design and characteristics have remained largely consistent since its introduction, with its inability to store electricity being a key trait across all generations.
