Smoochum is a small, humanoid Ice/Psychic-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Known as the "Kiss Pokémon," it has a distinctive appearance with a large head, blonde hair reaching its shoulders, and large bangs. Smoochum's most notable feature is its pair of large, pink lips, which are highly sensitive and used to examine new objects. These lips are kept moist by daily application of tree sap. Smoochum is an exclusively female species with no male counterpart.
This curious Pokémon is known for its active nature, often running about but prone to falling. Smoochum is very conscious of its appearance and will immediately check its reflection to ensure its face is clean. Interestingly, while it's meticulous about keeping its face clean, Smoochum doesn't seem to mind if its body gets dirty.
Smoochum's lips play a crucial role in its behavior and development. It uses them to test everything it encounters, forming likes and dislikes based on these interactions. This unique method of exploration helps Smoochum learn about its environment and develop preferences.

Breeding
As a baby Pokémon, Smoochum cannot breed. However, it can learn several egg moves when bred from its evolved form, Jynx. These include Fake Out, Wish, Role Play, and Ice Punch.

Smoochum's behavior and characteristics have been expanded upon throughout different Pokémon generations. In earlier games, it was noted for rocking its head back and forth as if trying to kiss someone. Later generations emphasized its curiosity and lip-based exploration. The Alola region Pokédex entry mentions that Smoochum's lips are highly perceptive sensors. In the Galar region, it was observed that Smoochum bathes immediately if its face gets dirty but doesn't care much about its body.
