Skarmory is a dual-type Steel/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation II. This avian Pokémon is entirely encased in hard, protective armor, giving it a metallic appearance. Despite its heavy-looking iron body, Skarmory is actually thin and light, allowing it to fly at impressive speeds of up to 180-190 mph. Its wings possess sword-like cutting edges, which it uses to slash foes in battle. Skarmory's steel wings become tattered and bashed from repeated battles, but once a year, they grow back completely, restoring their cutting edges to a pristine state.
Skarmory builds its nests in thorny bushes, where the constant scratching of its chicks' skin eventually hardens it into an iron-like state. The feathers it sheds are incredibly sharp, and in ancient times, people used these fallen feathers to make swords and knives. In the Galar region, Skarmory is known to have violent territorial clashes with Corviknight. Its sharp feathers are still valued today, as they can be processed into knives whose sharpness is recognized by the finest chefs.
