Scyther is a Bug/Flying-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Known as the Mantis Pokémon, it is renowned for its incredible speed and sharp scythe-like forearms. Scyther's green coloration allows it to blend seamlessly into grasslands and forests, making it an adept hunter. Its ninja-like agility enables it to move so quickly that it can create the illusion of multiple copies of itself.
In the wild, Scyther forms swarms led by a single leader chosen through combat. When a challenger defeats the current leader, the defeated Scyther is exiled from the swarm. Interestingly, Scyther becomes aggressive when faced with the color red. Its blades are maintained through battles and by cutting hard objects like trees; a single slice from Scyther can fell a massive tree.
Scyther is unique in having two different evolutions introduced in separate generations. It can evolve into Scizor when traded while holding a Metal Coat, or into Kleavor when exposed to a Black Augurite in the Hisui region. Despite these evolutions changing its type, all three Pokémon maintain the same base stat total of 500, making Scyther the only pre-evolved Pokémon to share this trait with its evolved forms.
