Pichu is an Electric-type baby Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is the pre-evolved form of Pikachu and is known for its playful and mischievous nature. Pichu is a small, ground-dwelling rodent Pokémon with pale yellow fur, black ear-tips, collar, and tail. Despite its cute appearance, Pichu is not yet skilled at controlling electricity and may accidentally shock itself or others when surprised or excited. This Pokémon is social and often found in groups, where they touch tails with other Pichu as a show of courage, creating showers of sparks. Pichu primarily lives in forests but has also been observed thriving in urban areas. Interestingly, Pichu discharges uncontrollable electricity while sleeping due to its inability to store electricity properly.

Evolutions
Pichu evolves into Pikachu when leveled up with high friendship. Pikachu then evolves into Raichu when exposed to a Thunder Stone.
Habits
Pichu is known for its playful behavior and tendency to discharge electricity when amused or startled. It often plays with other Pichu by touching tails, which creates showers of sparks. This act is seen as a test of courage among Pichu.
Additions Across Generations
In Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, a special form called "Spiky-eared Pichu" was introduced. This form is female-only and has three spikes on the tip of its ear. Additionally, in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, a special Pichu called "Ukulele Pichu" appears as the player's first Partner Pokémon.
