Magmar is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Known as the Spitfire Pokémon, Magmar is a bipedal creature with a duck-like beak and a body that appears to be constantly burning. Its body temperature can reach up to 2,200 degrees Fahrenheit (1,200 degrees Celsius), allowing it to live comfortably near active volcanoes. Magmar's body is covered in yellow and red flame-like patterns, and it has two lumps on its forehead with a yellow flame burning atop each one.
When Magmar breathes deeply, heat waves form around its body, making it difficult to see clearly. In battle, it can intimidate opponents by blowing out intensely hot flames from all over its body, creating heat waves that can ignite surrounding grass and trees. Interestingly, Magmar has the ability to heal its wounds and weariness by soaking in lava.

Magmar's habitat and behavior have remained consistent across generations, always being associated with volcanic areas and intense heat.
