Feraligatr is a formidable Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. It is the final evolution of the Johto starter Totodile, evolving from Croconaw at level 30. Known as the Big Jaw Pokémon, Feraligatr stands at an impressive height of 2.3 meters (7'07") and weighs 88.8 kg (195.8 lbs). This powerful creature is known for its massive and powerful jaws, which it uses to viciously tear apart its prey. Feraligatr's body is covered in blue scales, with red spines on its back and a cream-colored underside.

In battle, Feraligatr is a force to be reckoned with. It intimidates foes by opening its huge mouth and can move at blinding speed when attacking, despite its usually slow movements. Feraligatr's powerful hind legs allow it to charge at incredible speeds, kicking the ground hard to propel itself forward. Interestingly, Feraligatr has difficulty supporting its own weight out of water, often getting down on all fours when on land.

Evolutions

Totodile (starting form) → Croconaw (at level 18) → Feraligatr (at level 30)

Habits and Additions Across Generations

Feraligatr can rarely be found living near the water's edge. In Pokémon Sleep, it was revealed that Feraligatr and its pre-evolutions are known to sleep with one eye open and rest only half of their brain at a time, a practice known as unihemispheric sleep. This allows Feraligatr to constantly keep watch on its surroundings, ready to charge at any threats it senses. In later generations, Feraligatr gained access to new moves and abilities, including its hidden ability Sheer Force, which increases the power of moves with secondary effects at the cost of losing those effects.
