Doduo is a unique dual-type Normal/Flying Pokémon introduced in Generation I. This peculiar creature is known as the Twin Bird Pokémon, featuring two heads on a single body. Each head contains an identical brain, though on rare occasions, they may possess different sets of brains. The two heads never sleep simultaneously, taking turns to keep watch for enemies. They communicate emotions to each other through a form of telepathy. Despite being a Flying-type, Doduo cannot fly well due to its short wings. However, it compensates for this with incredible running speed, capable of reaching up to 60 miles per hour (100 km/h). As it runs, it leaves behind large 4-inch (10-centimeter) deep footprints. Doduo maintains its balance while running by raising and lowering its two heads.
