Snorlax is a large, bluish-green mammalian Pokémon with a cream-colored face, belly, and feet. It is known for its constant sleeping and enormous appetite, capable of consuming nearly 900 pounds of food per day. Snorlax's stomach is incredibly strong, able to digest any kind of food, even if moldy or poisonous, without any ill effects. This gluttonous Pokémon is so docile that children often use its expansive belly as a place to play.
Despite its lazy appearance, Snorlax can exhibit tremendous power when prompted. It evolves from Munchlax when leveled up with high friendship. In Pokémon Sword and Shield, Snorlax gained a Gigantamax form, where seeds and pebbles stuck to its fur grow to massive sizes, creating a small ecosystem on its belly.
Interestingly, Snorlax was inspired by the behavior and appearance of veteran Pokémon game designer Kōji Nishino, who had a habit of eating heavily and then going to sleep. In the Pokémon world, Snorlax's unexpected appearances in villages, where it devours entire rice granaries, have long been considered among the gravest of disasters.

- Diamond/Pearl: Its stomach can digest any kind of food, even if it happens to be moldy or rotten.
- Black/White: When its belly is full, it becomes too lethargic to even lift a finger, so it is safe to bounce on its belly.

- Sun/Moon: It eats nearly 900 pounds of food every day. It starts nodding off while eating—and continues to eat even while it's asleep.
