Ariados is a dual-type Bug/Poison Pokémon introduced in Generation II. Known as the Long Leg Pokémon, it evolves from Spinarak starting at level 22. Ariados is notable for its ability to produce thread from both its rear and mouth, making it difficult to distinguish between its ends. This arachnid Pokémon has a striking red body with black stripes, yellow legs, and purple eyes. Its feet are tipped with tiny hooked claws that allow it to scuttle on ceilings and vertical walls with ease.

Ariados is primarily nocturnal, wandering in search of prey after darkness falls. It employs a unique hunting strategy, attaching silk to its prey and setting it free, only to track the silk later to find both the prey and its friends. The silk produced by Ariados is remarkably strong, and in some areas, people use it for weaving cloth that is prized for its durability. Ariados can spin intricate webs not only to trap prey but also to create nests.

In battle, Ariados is known for its signature move Spider Web, which prevents opponents from escaping or switching out. It also has the ability to constrict foes with thin yet strong silk webbing. Interestingly, Ariados never rests in a specific place while hunting, always on the move in search of its next meal.
