Slugma is a Fire-type Pokémon introduced in Generation II. This fascinating creature is composed entirely of magma, with a bright red body that fades to a duller red along its extremities. Slugma's most distinctive features are its large, round yellow eyes with small pupils and the flame-like extensions spreading upward from its eyes. Its head is ovoid-shaped with round, stable drops of magma dangling from its upper jaw.

What makes Slugma truly unique is its circulatory system, which is composed entirely of magma. This molten substance circulates throughout its body, delivering vital nutrients and oxygen to its organs. To prevent its body from cooling and hardening, Slugma must constantly keep moving and never sleeps. If its body begins to cool, it becomes brittle and may break apart.

Slugma is commonly found in volcanic areas, where it slowly slithers around in a constant search for warm places. It often gathers with other members of its species in mountains and volcanoes. Interestingly, Slugma takes magma baths to heal itself. It's believed that in ancient times, when volcanoes were more active, Slugma were seen more frequently than they are now.
