About the name Oliver
The origin of Oliver is debated: it may come from the Latin oliva, "olive", or from the Old Norse name Áleifr. In medieval legend Oliver is a loyal companion of Roland in the service of Charlemagne, and Dickens later gave the name to Oliver Twist. Oliver was the most popular boys' name in England and Wales for most of the 2010s.
