Pikachu is an iconic Electric-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Standing at 1'04" (0.4m) tall and weighing 13.2 lbs (6.0kg), this Mouse Pokémon is known for its yellow fur, red cheeks, and lightning bolt-shaped tail. Pikachu stores electricity in the electric sacs on its cheeks, which can discharge powerful electric shocks. It raises its tail to check its surroundings, sometimes getting struck by lightning in this pose. Pikachu's ears are long and pointed with black tips, and it has brown markings on its back.

Interestingly, Pikachu was originally based on a Japanese snack called daifuku, before evolving into its current mouse-like design. It has a long-standing love for ketchup, first shown in a 1998 anime episode. Pikachu can generate electricity while sleeping, and if it doesn't get enough sleep, it can only use weak electricity. In the wild, forests inhabited by Pikachu are often struck by lightning.
