Seaking is a Water-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. It is known as the Goldfish Pokémon and is the evolved form of Goldeen. Seaking is a primarily orange-and-white, piscine Pokémon with round, dark eyes, prominent pink lips, and a cream-colored horn on its forehead. The horn of a female Seaking is smaller than that of a male. Seaking is a powerful swimmer capable of swimming against strong currents and even up waterfalls. During the autumn spawning season, Seaking's body becomes more fatty and vibrant in color as it prepares to court a mate.

Male Seaking perform elaborate courtship dances on riverbeds to attract females. Seaking uses its horn to bore holes in riverbed boulders, creating nests to protect its eggs from water currents. Both male and female Seaking take turns patrolling their nest for about a month, fiercely defending their eggs. Interestingly, there are two groups of Seaking enthusiasts: those who admire its horn and those who prefer its fins. These groups are known not to get along well with each other.

Habits and Additions Across Generations

In Generation I, Waterfall was Seaking's signature move. The Pokémon's design and behavior have remained largely consistent across generations, with minor updates to its Pokédex entries providing more details about its mating habits and nest-building behavior. In later generations, Seaking gained access to the hidden ability Lightning Rod, which allows it to draw in and nullify Electric-type moves while boosting its Special Attack.
