Kakuna is a Bug/Poison-type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Known as the Cocoon Pokémon, it is the evolved form of Weedle and the pre-evolved form of Beedrill. Kakuna is almost completely immobile, capable of only slight movements while it clings to tree bark. This immobility is due to its ongoing metamorphosis inside its hard shell as it prepares for its final evolution.

Despite its apparent vulnerability, Kakuna has developed defensive mechanisms. When endangered, it can extend poisonous barbs to deter predators. The shell of a Kakuna becomes hot to the touch, indicating the intense activity occurring within as it approaches evolution. Kakuna typically hides from predators under leaves and in the nooks of tree branches while awaiting evolution.
